Hi bros and sis i am a newbie here and hope you can help on this. When i power on a beep was produced and after ram test and giving details on processor the POST just stop there without giving any beep codes.

Anyone has this problem before? How to solve?

It is with PHOENIX-AWARD bios.

Before this the POST produce "chksum error" (but POST can still proceed after pressing F1). I check and adjust the mb battery (round, flat shape) then it start to behave like this.

Any help is very much appreciated.

You probably need to [fit a new (good) CMOS battery, and in the process] reset the BIOS's default configuration settings.

See...
Note that, if you see a "CMOS invalid" or "CMOS checksum invalid" message during POST, your system's CMOS is corrupted. You may need to run the BIOS Setup and restore the Default configuration values, or re-enter your hard drive configuration parameters. (http://www.dewassoc.com/support/bios/awardfaq.htm#Q3.8)

Replace with new battery, but no luck, still the same :( .

One thing forget to mention is that it just halts there and i can't enter set up even pressing DEL as instructed.

Did you leave the battery out long enough [15 min to 2 hrs] for the CMOS to reset?

Try leaving the battery out altogether; that should make the BIOS use the defaults.

If that works you then put the battery back in if/when you want the CMOS to retain changes or deviations from the defaults.
