Having trouble deciding which laptop I want

Hi all, First post :) I'm having trouble deciding which laptop I want. I'll probably spend up to 700 bucks. I don't want to make a bad decision on this. I'm going to use it for college and I'll probably do a little gaming on it also. I know these two are refurbished and I'm ok with that. I narrowed my search down between two laptops:

Go with the Centrino, no question.

And get yourself an extra (not refurb) battery. Those are often the first things to go on used laptops.

You would be better off with this Acer (http://www.californiacomputer.com/Shop/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=CaliforniaComputer&category%5Fname=&product%5Fid=LX.TH106.007&cookie%5Ftest=1). New and not refurb. XP pro instead of media center.
