I have installed an ECS NF650iSLIT-A mobo. When I turn on the power, the fans and HD spin, but I do not get any video...no splash screen, no bios info, nothing. I have a PCI radeon card installed (no onboard VGA port on this mobo). Is it possible that the only video card that is compliant is a PCI express card? The sketchy documentation does mention that the pci express x16 is used to install a pci express video card. Does this imply that it will not recognize a plain jane pci video card?
Thanks

Is it possible ?
Yes
Is it likely ?
NO

The bios should be searching for the cards in each slot at boot.

In a number of chipsets.
The bios info doesn't show up till nearly the end of the post
In some cases it doesn't show at all because of the video setting in the default ( agp as apposed to pcie )
Causing it to splash as windows boots

Does the mother board give you any beeps?

No beeps, no nothing. Tried a PCI xpress card...same result. Guess the mobo is DOA.

Does it give any beeps with no video card, and/or no ram?

If no, and assuming you have a working system speaker then yes the mobo is DOA.
