View Full Version : "BIOS is damaged." message.

Howdy.

Toshiba 310cds(old machine these days) with the following message when you turn it on: "BIOS is damaged."

That is all.

No beep-codes, no other activity.

Obviously, the BIOS is corrupted.
Do you think there is any chance this can be re-flashed?
I'm thinking "NO", as if you can't even get the machine to boot the BIOS update floppy...

Any ideas?

If you can not boot from a floppy or press any key to continue
or get into the bios as it is.

I would first try to flush / reset the bios
Be it by a jumper or remove the battery

Then make the attempt again to boot from a floppy with the correct bios flash program and version of a KNOW good bios for that unit
