Right speaker staticy all the sudden

My right speakers for my computer on two-channel audio mode all became staticy all the sudden. The left set is just fine. I checked the wire connections to the subwoofer and back, but the sound is still staticy. Anybody know what it could be?

Simple trial and error will find your problem.

Swap your left and right speaker connections. If the static is now on the opposite side, it is in the amplification or source. If the static is still in the same speaker, there is a problem with that speaker or it's wiring.

Step by step, we can narrow it down.

i discovered this already; the problem is with the amplification; maybe the volume was too high when i resumed from standby and caused the amplifier to suddenly become sucky; and this is what happened, but ought it really because volume is too much too sudden?
