Hi
First off I'm new to the forums and I in no way consider myself a computer expert. I would really like to get a gaming PC that will run games like Quake 4, F.E.A.R., Half Life, etc... smoothly (doesn't have to run on highest settings)
Up till now I've been playing my games on my Xbox but would really like to go back to the good ol mouse and keypad. I'm working over the summer between semesters so I don't really have the time to put together a computer. (and I doubt I have the skills anyway)
Here's my question: I've been watching a built computer off of ebay with these specs:

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo 6420 , 4 MB L2 Cache

Motherboard: MSI P6N SLI Platinum NForce 650i.

Memory: 2GB Corsair XMS2 DDR2 675 4-4-4-12 with Heat Spreader.

Harddrive: 320 GB Western Digital 7200 RPM SATA 3.0GB/s Har ddrive.

Graphic Card: EVGA Geforce 8800 GTS 320 MB Graphic card

Audio: Realtek High Definition Audio

DVD Burner: Samsung 18X DVD Burner with lightscribe technology

Powersupply: Antec True power Trio 550W Powersupply

Will this computer be able to handle the games I want to play? How much do you think this is worth?
As of now, (6/20) The computer was at $305

Any help/suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Cheers

Yes it will definitely play those games, and well.

You could, however, build your own computer and save money. $305 is a great price, but as you probably know, the price will go up. I doubt the computer will sell for less than $1000.

Also, make sure you got a great Sound Card, which is half of the gaming experience.

Most on-board sound is not very good.
