I'm in the process of reinstalling and I'm not sure in what order to install updates(ie;directX,IE 5.5 sp2, etc.) and then the usual like Via 4in1's, etc. Does anyone have any suggestions or a website that addresses this topic? My system consists of as follows;
AMD Athlon 600mhz "classic" slot A on a Tyan Trinity K7 with Via chipset,Nvidia MX 400, Philips PSC702,Kenwood 72X cdr,Quantum 40g HDD I'm never quite sure what to do first, the windows updates or the mobo stuff. Please help TIA

Some Suggestions:

1. Download each new driver to a separate floppy -- video, audio, chipset, printer, etc.
2. Download latest BIOS upgrade and flash from DOS if necessary
3. Install Windows
4. After the install, feed in the driver disks as the Hardware Wizard prompts for them
5. If the VIA drivers have a separate install routine, run that
6. Install Windows updates, security patches, etc from MS website
7. Install any other hardware required -- printer, scanner, etc.
