Soldering DC Jack on Mobo [Notebook]

Gateway Solo 9550, DC jack came loose, it's got 3 pins

Question is, when I place the pins back in their grooves, where do I solder them, on the top or underneath of the mobo?

depends wherever the traces are...

i find it often easier to use small wire and solder to another point at the same potential. often, the loose jacks ruin the original hole/trace
