Receiving considerable junk mail. Should I just delete it, send a remove E mail back(this adds to address book) or block sender? What is the best procedure to reduce the amount of junk mail received? Please advise. Thanks for your time. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/mad.gif

Hello Lis,
My first recommendation would be to delete. Opening this junk leaves you susceptible to virus. If you have an adiquate antivirus and do open, you can probably find info in the mail on how to remove your name from their list. If that does not work, you may then need to block sender.
Keep in mind that it can take some time to actually be removed from the list.

Lis,
Read recently that one is advised against responding in any way to spam. Requesting to be deleted from their mailing list ends up putting you onto a list of “live” contacts, which is sold to other spammers. The article said is best to just block/delete.

There is an option you can use in Outlook.

inbox > organise > junk e-mail.

Main thing is not to give your e-mail to any sites on line. I use a hotmail account when I need to give an address, this gets full of spam. But my outlook account (with my proper address) stays clear.

I like to Block Sender.

Also, If I have to leave my e-mail addy posted somewhere as a link on a website i'll add .nospam. as part of the address. Example: xxxranchdog@nospam.hotmail.com. If someone wants to e-mail me, they know which portion to remove and type in my address. I realize this may be troublesome to people but it beats being automated on to spam mailing lists.

Luck. G http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif Raiders.

Hmmm. My first question is what are you using for e-mail O.E. or an on line e-mail? The only time I ever had a problem with spam is with the online(hotmail etc.) the problem with just blocking is they already have your e-mail addy and all they have to do is change thier address a little and it well get through, it depends on how determined they are. If you are using e-mail through your ISP contact them and see if you can get them involved.

Good Luck!!

Oh by the way my wife is a big Steeler fan also!!
