After several attempts to revive my hopeless computer, I decided to get a brand new one. However, I am new at DIY-ing my own com so I could use some help here:)
I would sitck to Windows XP for now.
Motherboard:
MSI Pm8M-V VIA, $92(US$60)
CPU:
Core 2 Duo E6700 2.66 GHz (1066/4M), $530(US$345)
RAM:
2x Kingston 1gb DDR2 667, $128(US$83)
HDD:
Seagate 400gb Sata2, $170(US$111)
DVD R/W:
Sony DRU830A, $56(US$37)
I am not sure whether should I buy a power supply by itself or buy a casing which already has a power supply in it. I do not know which video card I should purchase.
Do keep in mind that the choices I made above are chosen after browsing through some of the threads here and looking at the price list of my local computer store so perhaps some of my choices are not very wise. If thats the case, experts out there do help to give me some guidance.
Basically, I want a computer that is capable of playing the the latest games like Supreme Commander and CnC3 and is satisfactorily fast.
My budget is $1000(US$650) to $1500(US$976).
