AMD or Intel

This has been really bugging me and I really need some advice. I been doing a lot of research about Intel and AMD, and have gotten down to two processors:

AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ and
Intel Core 2 Duo E6600

Both of these processors are within my price range but I don't know which one to get. I will be doing music and video/picture editing, playing games; i consider myself to be a a casual gamer, watching movies, and daily internet and work. If anybody could please help me I would be very grateful. Thank you in advance.

Intel Core2Duo is the hot processor right now, does most everything better and faster.
AMD is pricing their chips better, makes it possible to get a deal right now.

i've always been an Intel man, myself. I'd have to go with the C2D. it really IS a great processor.
