Memory upgrade

I have a Notebook pc Compaq presario v2000 with 512 Physcal ram and i know it's shared with the video card (128) and it's slowing alot of games down, I am wondering what type of memry is the best to go with..In terms of a gig. My plan is to Get a gig chip and keep one of the 256 chips in for added memroy so i have still left with a physcal gig to the machine anad the 256 can run half the video card....what i am wondering is what is the cheapest ram that's a gig that hsould make this computer run alot faster. or what type of ram is compatable?

Well.. Im no expert at hardware stuff >_< But my computer teacher told us that laptops are extremely hard to upgrade, if they can at all..

I brought my laptop in, and he said i couldnt upgrade it..

not much help i know... sorry :x


but it might be possible with yours! My laptop has windows 95 on it!! XP

try Crucial (http://www.crucial.com/store/listparts.aspx?model=Presario+V2000+Series). The memory supplied is warranted to be compatible,and the proces aren't bad either!
