usually how long does it takes one to finish scripting a simple page (including css,js), for example, a page like yahoo.com ?

This might sound sarcastic but isnt meant that way but really, "how long is a piece of string" comes to mind. To create the first "template" page for a web can take anything from a few minutes to a day's work but once the basic design and template are structured one should be able to modify new static pages measured in minutes and not hours and if using, say php/sql or other server side scripts, it should just be a matter of adding one item to the database. Same with CSS since once a basic CSS file has been created it is easy to then modify as needed. Javacript and other scripts can be very complicated at times (because different browsers do things differently) and they can often be the most elaborate things to get sorted out.
