View Full Version : 2 PCs and a 360 problems

Hi i have a router and a cable internet connection from my router i got to 2 computers and an x box 360 but while the 360 is online one of the computers (the one im on now specs are P3 250 mb ram linux ubuntu os) will not acess the internet nothing will load but as soon as the 360 goes offline it will load just like normal any idea whats goin on here and please any ideas on how to fix my problem:confused:

I would imagine they have an IP conflict. Set all devices to DHCP or manually assign three different IP's one to each device.

thanks but my pc is already set to DHCP and if i assign a new ip to it i have to know the subnet mask and the gateway adress and what woudl i change the ip to? the other pc works fien while the 360 is on but mine dosent:(

Is the 360 set to DHCP? Your PC may be DHCP but the 360 is using the same IP address as the PC. You can manually assign the problem PC by sitting at the PC that doesn't have the problem, going to start, run and type cmd and hit enter. Type IPconfig and hit enter. Note the IP, subnet mask and Default Gateway. On the machine with the problem add 100 to the last octect, so if the IP of the working machine is 192.168.1.5 change the problem PC to 192.168.1.105, the subnet mask and default gateway IP's dont change, so copy use the same ones used on the working PC.

hey thanks for the help workin fien now and im not gonna be oen of the ppl that gets help and up and leaves ill stay at this forum haha i may not be the smartest person but i have ran into pleanty of problems that i got fixed so yea :)
