My computer won't turn on. it has been sitting in my basement for about a month now, and I just moved it back upstairs again. I plugged in and powered it on and the LED lights on the fans flickered, and then went off. I tried to turn it on again with no success. I have tried a different surge protector, a different outlet, and different power cord. The light on the mother board is on, so I don't think its the PSU. a friend told me that the processor could be doing this. is this true??? please help! Specs: AMD Athlon 64 oced to 2.65; 1.5 gb ram; 250 gb hard drive; Nvidia GeForce 7600 GT; Mobo is Asus A8N5X; PSU is 420 watt, stock w/ case.

The cheapest and easiest thing to try is to remove the BIOS battery and hit the power button with it unplugged, and then put a new battery in. It may have gone dead in storage.

I doubt that would happen. Its been only...around...7 months sense i put this computer together. A battery wouldn't go dead in a month..would it???

Yes, easily. I think it's your PSU. Try a known working PSU with your configuration to be sure.
