Hi,
Every time I open Thunderbird it asks me if I want to use it as the default mail application.
I select yes and tick the box. But when I re-open Thunderbird I get the same message.
I go to options and check the box to make Thunderbird my default application, but the check disappears when I re-open options.
I tried reg edit, and added my user name in mailto-permissions.
But I still get the same message.
Is there any issues between Vista & Thunderbird?
Is windows mail or outlook causing issues?

You may need to change a setting in Internet Explorer. Open IE and click on Tools/Internet Options. Click on the Programs tab. In there you should see where you may have to make a change concerning whether or not you want IE to be your default browser. Right now, you may have IE as your default which means if you try to open any other browser, it will ask you.

Hi, thanks but it's an email client, firefox loads fine and is set as default.
I might have to uninstall and reinstall thunderbird.

You're right--I was thinking browser when Thunderbird is for email. Try this one more thing. Open Outlook Express if that's what you have. Then click on Tools/Options and then on the Connection tab. I think you may have it set there to have it ask you.

Fixed it, uninstalled, deleted all files and reinstalled.
Works now, thanks for your help!
