Hi,

This is my first post - and I'm a complete techno-novice! Basically I have a Pentium 4, 3 GHz, 512 MB RAM and I want to be able to run games like Command and Conquer 3.

However I have an AGP slot (that supports 4x and 8x AGP cards) (and there's also a PCI slot), and the power supply is only 200W! Great!

so, does anyone have any ideas on what the best graphics card would be for me?

Also, Is there a way I can upgrade my system so that I can have a greater power supply/PCIe slot? confused and in need of your help!

Thanks in advance

Al.

You could buy a new power supply, then you could get the best agp card out there.

Hello rockali, welcome to PC Guide.

"Also, Is there a way I can upgrade my system so that I can have a greater power supply/PCIe slot? "

To get PCIe slots you need a new motherboard along with a new cpu, RAM, power supply and graphic card.

First off, how much money do you have to spend ?
What OS are you using WinXP ?

Adding another stick of 512mb of RAM would help.

Im running a 9800 pro AGP, my power supply is 350W and I play Half Life 2 with setting up.

Also read through the Buying and Upgrading Advice (http://www.pcguide.com/vb/forumdisplay.php?f=9) section of the forum and see what others have done.

Have fun.
