I'm running Win XP Pro with 750Mb of Memory.
My PC is having problems while trying to Open some fancy or Dingbat fonts having large file-sizes, typically 300-500kb. When the font loads, the first line of characters takes a few seconds to appear. After about 10 seconds the second line appears, then the third and so on. But (sometimes) before it reaches the largest characters, there's a click from the base unit, and the PC re-boots all by itself. In the past, once I've clicked on the font to open it, I've been unable to halt the process. I've tried pressing Ctrl/Alt/Delete to bring up the the Windows Task Manager, but even that didn't respond.
Today, however, I tried the ESC key, then Ctrl/Alt/Delete. At first nothing hapened, but eventually the Font closed without the PC going down. When the Task Manager finally appeared the font wasn't listed, so it seems like the ESC key was successful.
Is this a System Resources problem?
