I am trying to run system restore.
I boot to safe mode.I log in as Administrator. I select the restore date. then it says restoring then it will restart. after the restore, it says that it failed. I can't figure out why it wont restore. any ideas?
BTW, the notebook can't connect to the internet so I wanted to do a system restore.
I found something interesting. when I restore to a point before something that has "Software Distribution Service 3.0", I will be able to connect to the internet eventhough the system restore failed. after I restarted, I won't be able to connect to the internet again.
anyone have any idea what this Software Distribution Service is? Its not listed in the Add/Remove Programs.
