I finished upgrading my ram for my notebook.
I was running 2x512mb pc4200 and now I am running 2x1gb pc5300 (667mhz)(the max supported by HEL80)

Anyway when I go to my computer right click and hit properties, and it comes up to the information section this is what i see.

Computer:
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU
t5600 @ 1.83Ghz
1.32Ghz, 2.00GB of Ram
Physical Address Extension.

The number I bolded keeps changing i don't know what it means. I have seen it down around 900 and up to 1.83. At first I thought it was ram is it just showing my cpu speed? What does this have to do with ram? I don't really check it that often. I just wanted to see if it changed in area. I normally go start run, msinfo32.exe

It appears to mean that your processor is being 'throttled' and is only using what it needs to help keep power consumption and/or heat to a minimum. If at times you see it report the full speed of 1.83ghz, don't sweat it. Either your BIOS or another application is just watching over things as it's supposed to do.

If you prefer to force it to run full throttle at all times, then the first place I would look is in the CMOS settings options.

LOL, after I reading that I had just remembered I am the reason its throttled. I have it set up to thottle if I am on bat power.
