Hey folks,

Confused here -- bought my PC in spring 2004. My purchase receipt shows:

AMD 3.0 GhZ 800 FSB
AMD ATHLON XP 3000+ BARTON V 2167 MhZ
ASUS A7N8X-E DELUXE NFORCE2 LAN DDR400, sata

My questions are:

1) Do I have a 2.16 or 3 GhZ processor?
2) If I have a 2.16 GhZ processor, what does the XP 3000+ mean?
3) What does 800 FSB mean?

Thanks in advance, and sorry about the newb questions...I'm new to this game.

Cheers,
RS

The clock frequency is 2.16 GHz. The 3000+ designation is a 'Performance Rating', wich is intended to compare it to a 3 GHz Pentium.

800 FSB is the speed of the Front Side Bus. The 2.16 GHz clock speed only exists inside the CPU chip, it must be less for signals communicating with RAM and other external devices.
