The specs on the computer can be found HERE (http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00387086&cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&product=501776&dlc=en&lang=en)
If ya dont trust the link heres is the short version
AMD Sempron 3000+ 1.8ghz
Prod. # PX796AA-ABA
Socket 754
M.Board: K8S-LA ASUS
Memory: supports PC 3200 184 pin ddr sdram, currently rocking 1 516mb chip
Also she plans on mostly surfing but also playing games of Civilization 4 quality.
Ok with that being said I guess the two basic things that can be upgraded first on the cheap is the video card and memory.
The mboard has a pci slot and a agp slot open.
Better to get the PCI card right? Its not a x16 slot
And for the memory I was thinking I would just get a 1gb stick.
Also as far as the PSU I dont know exactly whats in it b/c I have not opened it up yet but I guess that will proly be a good thing to do before installing a PCI graphics card right?
Any suggestions of good brands on the cheap and any other advice would be definately appreciated.
