laptopt to tv

im trying to connect my laptop to the tv but all i get is sound. I connected the s video cable to my laptop and tv and the audion cable as well but all i get is sound. I tried pressing the fn key to switch views but it still didnt work. I have a Sanyo HD flatscreen and a Compaq laptop. someone please help, i dont know if i have to set up my tv to receive the signal or vice versa

I had the same problem. And I resolved just changing the S-video cable for another one. So it seems the S-video cable that I had, it was a S-video to A/V cable, and the connections between is incorrect, is not compatible. Then I plugged a S-video output (Computer TV) to another S-video (TV plug S-video).

And then it works.

Does any body can corroborate this?
