Hello All,
I have xp home with ADSL broadband 512/164 connection. Modem is a
D-Link DSL-302G.
My Problem is that every now and then, sometimes 2 or 3 times a day or more I lose the internet connection.I unplug the modem for 10 seconds or so then plug back in and I am connected again ok.This is starting to be a PITA.
Would this be more likely to be a problem with my equipment or a fault with my ISP.Somethings got to change.
Thanks for any advice on this,
Wombil.

It may be neither a problem with your equipment nor a problem with your ISP.

When the exact thing you describe was happening to me, I asked arouind, tried umpteen things as suggested to fix it and even spent several phone calls and hours talking with my ISP.

In the end, it turned out to be too many electrical devices on one house electrical circuit and whenever the thermostat for the air conditioner would start the compressor, my connection would get lost and I'd need to reboot the modem.

Sharing the electrical device loads up amongst other circuits and outlets cured the problem. Maybe your issues are similar.

Thanks Ted,
I can see how this would have took some tracking down. It's been a bit cold lately and I have been using the air conditioner a bit so that may be the cause. Will keep a watch on it and see what happens. You have probably saved me a lot of searching.
Cheers,
