I'm assuming K-lite is referring to Kazaalite, the file sharing program. I'm sure most of the people on the forum here will inform you that this kind of program poses a serious threat to your computer, that you should remove it, and should proceed to do several virus/malware scans.

On another note, welcome to the PC Guide Discussion Forums. :)

I have the K-Lite Codec Pack 3.25 Full (http://www.free-codecs.com/K_Lite_Codec_Pack_download.htm) installed and it has never caused a problem.

Seems that something nasty is happening with Explorer.exe when it is in the process of constructing the Context Menu by retrieving the necessary info from the registry to build it.
Regmon.exe can record the registry accesses.
Filemon.exe can record the other program files Explorer.exe uses for the task.
This last is may show which of the files includes the culprit.
Something is writing to Explorer's memory space, and explorer crashes when it retrieves that inappropriate data.
Is it one of the programs used by Explorer [the one below?] that's doing it? [Since it only happens during this activity]
