View Full Version : Where do I purchase a 3½" bracket for PCI card?

I'm working on an old Gateway that has the narrow case that only accommodates the shorter PCI cards that are about 3½" high. I need to install a NIC and I have several on my scrap pile--all of which are the standard longer variety. I think I can remove the actual card from the bracket and attach it to a shorter bracket, but I have never had to purchase one in the past and I don't even know if "bracket" is the right thing to call it.
Any ideas?
Thanks,

I took a shot at eBay with the search parameter "low profile"

Yes, that's exactly what I need. But I was hoping that I could purchase the low-profile bracket only, not the actual NIC, and then screw the card on to the low profile bracket. This is assuming that the holes in the card where you attach it to a normal bracket will be the same as for the low-profile bracket. If I have to get the whole thing, I'll do so. But at least I now know what I'm looking for.
Thanks.

Whyzman, you da man! That's just what I need and I'm confident it will work. I bought it and will report back after attaching the NIC to the bracket as soon as it arrives. To say thanks I'm dropping another ten bucks in the tip jar in your honor.
