I bought a Gateway desktop PC at BestBuy about a week ago, a GM5472, and spent about $800 on it (which included a printer and larger 19" monitor). This past Saturday I noticed they had a sale on another Gateway machine, a GM5474. It costs $250 more for the same stuff and I am trying to see if I should return the one I got for this one.

Could someone give me advice (need to take the 5472 back tomorrow or I will pay a restocking fee).

Here's the differences I can see

GM5472 / GM5474

Processor: AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+ / AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+
Operating System: MS Vista Premium (both)
Chipset: nvidia 6150SE (both)
Video: GeForce 6150SE integrated / nvidia GegForce 8500GT w/256mb card
TV Tuner: same

These are all the differences I can spot. Let me know what you think. One thing I was wondering, aside from the processor speed, is if I later add a video card based on the 8500GT wouldn't that be the same either way?

I look forward to your response!

Mike:)

I wouldn't do it. I would take the one with the worst graphics, and just update it when I need to. The 8500gt isn't a very good card anyway.
