View Full Version : Site Problems
A problem arose with the site this morning. For a few hours the entire domain was down completely; it was then restored but an incorrect pointer caused an old version of the site to be displayed. This was corrected, but there still seem to be some folks whose DNS servers are pointing to the old site. Hopefully everything will be straightened out soon; sorry for any inconvenience.
PS Thanks to Sea69 for pointing out this problem to me by email.

Unfortunately, we're not all the way back. The site seems to be mostly back to normal, however, all email to pcguide.com is now kaflooey. They are working on it. In the meantime, if something else breaks, just post it here in this thread, I'll keep an eye on it.
Thank you all for your ongoing support.

I think my machine got some bad files from here. Couldn't get on for awhile because I kept locking up when I tried. Couldn't get into my temp internet files either, same problem. I thought I had ticked someone off with my second amendment comment and maybe been sent a virus, but Mcafee found nothing. Booted in safe mode, was able to access temp files and delete everything. I'm out of breath, but glad to be back.
I've said it before and I'll say it again. Since I found this site, I can't remember what a computer used to be for. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif

Say, I don't want to alarm anyone with this little piece of reality. I was out of town the whole time the site was down/had troubles. Maybe I am the center of the universe and all things really do revolve around me. No nimnorf2, no peace, no order, all things go haywire. Let's look at the facts objectively for a moment. Saddam Hussein, Hitler, Stalin, Idi Amin, Jeffrey Daumer and the Unibomber all have one thing alike: they never knew me! Yep. The blizzard of '58 on the east coast, born two days later.
The Federal Building in Oklahoma, the middle east, (even Vietnam), never been there. Make your own conclusions, I'm gonna go check my head size for my eminent crowning.
Seriously, I still feel like a visitor to the forum but think it's just the best. Am so impressed with you regulars, and will be sure to put some of you into my cabinet upon ascension to my throne.

Oh, Nim! Now I understand..there were so many things I was puzzled by, but you have explained it. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif
Seriously, I am still having problems here. Get the Server Error messages, and this morning when linking to another thread, got an IE illegal operation message..that's never happened before. Little worried that yawningdog might be right...and I got something running amok in my puter.
