My Monitor is Benq FP222W LCD and operating system is Windows Vista Home Premium. Recently I have down loaded a Windows Hardware update (Benq – other Hardware – Benq FP 222w (Analog) and installed it. After the installation of Windows update the picture quality has reduced and when I check my Monitor through Device Manager it’s shows Monitor as Benq FP222w (Analog).

I tried to run System Restore but it is not working since this update. Device manager – Advance settings – Display devices listed the Monitor as CRT. Windows update – View update history shows the update as successful. When I tried to use uninstalled an update, the update is not showing there for some reason. The roll back driver is also not working. I also tried to run installation CD with LCD drivers but it is not running saying that drivers are up to date. Can someone please help me uninstall the Windows hardware update and reset my Monitor to LCD.

I just went here
http://www.benq.us/products/LCD/?product=653&page=downloads&dType=D

It does NOT list anything for Vista

However you may be able to force it to use the windows XP driver
Even if you have to uninstall the device completely in device manager.
Then remove it's drivers ( should do it automatically)

Then reboot and when it finds the device tell it to search for a device driver and you force it to look in the cd or better yet a folder on your hard drive that you place the downloaded files into.

Then use custom on your Next windows update and hide the drivers for the screen till they get their act together and create a true update for this display
Other wise windoz will repeat the same thing again
