Greetings. This is my first time on this discussion board, but I'm hoping someone can help me. I've got an old computer downstairs that my kids use for their homework and some games. It's an AMD 233 on an Asus TX97-XE motherboard. Recently it began to make a sustained beeping noise after being on for a while. I checked the temperature of the CPU and it was somewhere around 90`C. It appeared that the CPU fan's bearing was acting up. I replaced the fan and since that day am unable to fire the computer up. The on/off switch has no effect on the operation of the tower. As soon as I plug in the tower, the CPU fan and chassis fan turn on, the HDD LED turns on solid, and the power LED flashes steadily. Nothing appears on the screen whatsoever. As far as I can tell, no board, chip or jumper has been dislodged. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.
