Are they digital speakers and maybe your onboard sound isn't? Although I don't think they'd work at all if that was the case.

Which OS?

Have you looked in "Audio Properties" to see what is muted and what is not? It could be that one of the features in audio properties is unmuted and messin' with the sound...

Also, welcome tohttp://www.pcguide.com/ubb/pcgubb.gif Forums!

If that happens again, drop an email to IXL at the site address and he can do a password reset, assuming you remember your member name used.

For some reason when new drivers are loaded, especially when going from a PCI card to onboard, or visa versa, settings seem to get changed also. That's why I would suggest having a look in Audio Properties/Volume Control first. I would begin my muting everything except for Volume and CD Audio and see if it disappears. I think it's the S/PDIF-in on mine if left unmuted will sound like a machinegun...

So, I'd start there...

"i completely forgot everything"
Store all your most important website addresses, user names, passwords, security info etc within the [FREE] Acerose Password Vault (http://www.dexadine.com/acerose.html).

Then the only things you need to remember is the user name and password to get into the vault; you double-click an entry to be taken to the CORRECT [untampered by hackers] web address, and you copy and paste the info needed to enter the site from the vault to the site windows.
