I guess I was feeling particularly self-deprecative when I titled that last thread. Whatever. I'm tired. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif Anyway, we have made some changes to the server, courtesy of the fine folks at pair. I have noticed that site volume is up considerably, which is generally a sign that things are running faster and/or fewer errors are occurring. Are people finding the forums run any better now? I'd like some feedback so let me have it. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif

I am hoping that I can find a bit of time this coming weekend to work on some of the very good suggestions that have been posted to the Suggestion Box recently.

Okay, the forums don't suck

We knew that...

So far I haven't had any trouble the past few days, and have been able to move or delete a few posts, which I couldn't do without Internal Server Errors a week ago. POsting messages hasn't been a problem either, but usually wasn't much trouble before, although the server errors did seem to be more common than usual just before the work on it was done. Seems all better now to me...

The other problems I noticed seem to have been resolved as well, no more categories going flaky and showing only one post, etc. Looks like the upgrading gave us a new lease on life. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Thanks to Pair from all of us.

WAAAAHOOOOO! All seems to be well. Haven't had a single error on several days. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
And yes, I have noticed the new member count going up faster in the last few day too. By the 7th. we were at an average of 15 new a day. 3 days ago that was down to 3 a day. We are now closer to 10 a day http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif

Are we ready for that kind of projected growth? http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/eek.gif The way I see it, by end of Feb. we should be at an average of 30 new members a day.

We all knew that you knew, that we knew that you knew that the forums didn't suck. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/tongue.gif Just some technical difficulties. Whatever they did, it worked! There's joy in the northland once again. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif

It must have been pretty discouraging for awhile there. Get some rest. You deserve it!

And thanks. It's a great site.

I was blown away by the "speed" of a Search I did this morning. WHOOOSH, search results! Something has improved dramatically, and I haven't had any error messages either. THANK YOU past, present, and future.

Hey yeah, and I can even post, go back to the topic page, hit refresh, and my post is there! Happy days are here again. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif

Hey Charles, when it gets dark, you're supposed to close your eyes until it's over. hehe (I know all too well how that works out sometimes though)

Relax. Don't worry. Listen to some Floyd. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Cheers,

I hadn't noticed the change in WORDING of this topic from the previous... I guess we don't notice as much when it all works perfectly, compared to before.
