Video Card Question

I'm buying a laptop soon, probably within a month, and I have a question about which video card to get it with. I can either pay 200 and get an 8600M GT or I can opt out of that and save 200. I'm not gaming by any means, but will the video card make Vista run any smoother? Or will it affect my movie-watching or anything similar? Is integrated a stupid choice?

You want to get as much RAM memory as possible with Vista (up to 3 Gigs), and a video card that speeds things along without sharing system memory helps.
