i have recently been told that its dangerous to play PC games online because people can put viruses on your computer.

does anyone know how to stop anyone from "virusing" your computer?

Computer games often use obscure ports and primarily run on UDP rather than TCP, and the connections to the servers are quite secure. While I've heard of a few cases of people getting virii through online gaming, the source of the bad code was on the game server itself, not something that just "got in" during gameplay.

The fact of the matter is, I've been playing online games for years, and I know people who do much more than me, and I've never met anyone who got an infection through online gaming. The internet is another thing, but gaming sessions are as secure as the server.
