sound poblem

I just installed vista on my pc and downloaded the sound drivers for it(realtek hd vista 1.67).i am getting volume less than half from my normal and also its not clear. i have other speakers but the problem persisted.i feel theres some problem with the driver.i have tried installing the updated versions of this driver but none of them even worked even.
pls help as i am getting really frustated with this

i have also checked in device manager and there is no problem withthe driver according to it

With Vista
The default for sound volume is a little mixed
I do mean mixed here

Double click the volume Icon on the task bar
it should open the mixer for sound
IN my first try of vista install on a realtek sound card onboard
I got half of the volume till I found the double volume level control

One sound level for half the stuff and another for everything else

i have already set the volume mixer's volume to 100 in all.but the problem is there still
