Whenever I place the PCI card in the expansion slot, that is the only soundcard I will see in the control panel, if I remove it only then will I see the integrated soundcard, I want to use both soundcards, any ideas why this is happening?

Do you see it in device manager?

I want to use both soundcardsWhy??

Most chipsets are designed to disable the onboard sound when a separate sound card is installed. If your BIOS has no other options for forcing the onboard to stay active, you're SOL.

But the original question still stands. Why on earth would you want to use two sound cards?? Windows is not good at that, not at all. I mean, it works within Windows, but programs get really really confused!

When the Aureal card is in, it alone shows in the DM, when the card is out only then do you see the integrated shwoing in the DM so it has to be as Saphalline said, that the expansion card is automatically disabling the onboard sound.

To answer the question why I need 2 soundcards, I want to use one soundcard as a headphone monitor for my DJ programs.

So what's stopping you from doing that with one soundcard? You'll have two channel in, and two channel out...

Don't understand Johnny, can you give me both a physical and software configuration to make this possible? I am being told that I will need 2 soundcards for this?
