I have a primary and secondary IDE controller. I know that I can run two devices in the primary and two in the secondary. What I am wondering if I can set up the devices like on (primary hard drive and DVD) on (secondary CD rom and CD rewriter). I am trying to find out if there may be a conflict before I tried it, or I want to find out if anyone has tried it and if it worked

I concur with what Paleo Pete had to say in reference to putting xx-rom device on the same ide controller as a the hard drive...it will slow down the HD considerably. Just curious...is there really a need for the CD-ROM drive since you could use the DVD-ROM in its place? If not, I would just put those devices on the secondary ide. I just added a CDRW drive on my secondary ide as a slave with my CD-ROM as master and I had no problems. Just a thought http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
