I just bought a Intel Core Duo 2 Processor 2.40GHZ 6600 model. It runs great. I have 2gb of Ram and a ATI 1650 512MB Video card and also running Windows XP Home.

I just wanted to know why my games still run slow on high resolution. They run slow. I tried Lost Planet and Bioshock. If I play it on like 800x600 Resolution it plays really smooth but the graphics are not as detailed. If anyone knows what the problem is that would be great.

The problem is your graphics card. It sucks for gaming like BioShock.

Don't post twice.

Yep odannyboy000 is right. Your CPU and ram is not the problem. Your video card is low end and can not be expected to play the latest games at decent resolutions.

Bioshock on a Radeon X1650!? Talk about a slide show! :p

Don't feel too bad, though. That game makes 95% of all gaming-capable PC's cry like a little girl who got mud on her dress! I've got some heavy-duty hardware myself, and Bioshock can still make my system whimper!

I can't wait to see what Crysis can do! :D

But it's running WinXP, it's not using DX10 anyways just DX9.

Very true. DX10 and WinXP don't mix well. ;)

However, that doesn't mean the latest high-end DX10 vid cards won't give you a significant performance boost, even in DX9/WinXP. They will! I can vouch for that! I'm currently dual-booting WinXP Pro (standard 32-bit version) and Vista Ultimate 64-bit. Games in WinXP gain significant performance increases using high-end DX10 vid cards!
