Hello Everybody,

First off, I will inform those of you who answered my queries about the illegal operation and page fault errors that I was getting, have I think, been resolved by updating my video card and the purchase of a new monitor. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif(knocking on wood)

The old monitor gave me some gobbledegook on the screen one day, a bunch of garbage that made no sense whatsoever. I figured the monitor was going at that point, because of the garbage display and the fact that the monitor would pop loudly every so often.

Anyway, haven't received any error messages since. Does this make sense to those of you who have more knowledge of this than me?

Secondly, I just downloaded Release Ram Professional from TweakFiles. I haven't put it to use yet, because I wanted some feedback from you all first.

So, what are the benefits? What are the detriments? Any insight would be appreciated.

Thanks a bunch.

Note: For those of you who are wondering, I named my handle for the 1966 Cadillac that I am restoring. She's big and she's blue. Yep, 18 1/2 feet of chrome, glass and real sheet metal. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif Rides like a, well, like a Cadillac. 429cid, 4bbl carb that puts out 330 horsies and 480 ft. lbs. of torque. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/cool.gif Oh, and Pete, I am also a Floyd fan.

Makes me wish I still had my '76 El Dorado...or the '78, or best yet, the '59!

Don't know anything about Release Ram, but from what you said about the video/monitor problem, I'd say more likely video card than monitor. The drivers could have had a lot to do with it.
