I wonder if anyone can help me. I have two wirless modem/routers and I'd like them to both serve my ADSL connection. Either work fine in isolation. I have a PC that connects wirelessly to one of them but I also have an Internet TV decoder that I would like to connect upstairs. I initially had one of the router upstairs serving the decoder (wired - wireless not available) and my PC connecting wirelessly to it too. However, the distance for the wireless connection proved troublesome so I have had to put the router downstairs. This means that I can't have the decoder connected upstairs, unless I can connect the second wireless router. If I connect it then the downstairs one no longer serves my ADSL connection. I have tried turning off DHCP and changed the IP address (of the upstairs one) but this, surprisingly, has made no difference at all.
Any suggestions?

Check if one of your routers can be setup as a wireless bridge.
If not you may want to look into buy something like this :Wireless bridge (http://www.linksys.com/servlet/Satellite?c=L_Product_C2&childpagename=US%2FLayout&cid=1134692497433&pagename=Linksys%2FCommon%2FVisitorWrapper)
Good Luck:)

My concern here would be, if the wireless connection on the PC is poor to the router upstairs, then the wireless connection to a second router (being used as a bridge) would be equally poor. If the wireless signal problem can be overcome with the equipment you have, then setting the unit downstairs as "Gateway" (default) and the unit upstairs as "Router", disable DHCP on downstairs and assign IP's by MAC address from the gateway. The obvious problem is the signal. How about a range booster or extended range antenna? If this would overcome the signal problem, then the second router is unnecessary. Do you have a way to run cable from downstairs to upstairs and place the second router within reasonable range of the decoder?
