(Re: 9-8-00) Hi again guys. After a few hours, we finally formatted the hard drive, and reinstalled win98. Win98 searched out drivers as it's supposed to. The ones it didn't find (Printer, and sound card) we installed with CDs. The sound card gave up a problem, due to the fact that there was no sound out of the speakers. After checking in device manager and volume master controls, we finally got microphone and speakers back. It also play music CDs through speakers, but there are no wav files working, and so far we haven't been able to figure out why. Does anyone have any ideas about this one?
Thanks guys

That's very strange! Obviously the sound card and speakers do work, so it has to be some sort of software glitch. What software are you using to play the WAVs?

Where would we go to see what software we are using to play wav files? Is it part of the sound card driver stuff, windows 98 or what. Also an error screen sometimes comes up and says that the sound card in in use by something else.
Thanks

Thanks anyways for trying with this guys. My friend has a warranty on this PC and is in the process of shipping it back to Ohio for their techs. to looks at and fix or better yet (replace). The tech tryed with everything over the phone today and he thinks that since the sound card it integrated with the mother board that they will probably end up replacing it.
Keep up the great work.
Thanks

Well, guess it's too late now, but I just thought of this. Been wondering about this one, but usually too dingy to think it through. Mostly been here late at night too tired to really think. Did you check in the volume control panel to see if Wave was turned up? As in double click speaker icon in task tray and see what the volume level is? If everything else works, seems the volume control would be a good bet.
