Please, help me! I don't know why, but I suddenly cannot add anything to
Favorites in IE 7. I cannot bookmark any page! Also, all the favorites I had before
vanished!!! How can I restore this function?
Maybe these will help you: I run Windows XP SP2. I uninstalled Firefox and reinstalled the Portable Firefox. I use Foxmarks in Firefox. I wonder if there's any connection with the problem in IE 7. Thank you.

There will be a registry setting that specifies where the folders & files are held and "Internet Explorer" will look at that setting and display [in IE7 Favourites] what it sees there.
SO...
1. First find those folders and files.
They are probably on the C: partition somewhere [the default location].
Perhaps..."C:\Documents and Settings\[your present logon account username]\Favourites".
2. Use "Control Panel->TweakUI->My Computer->Special Folders->Folder->Change location" to point to the folder that holds all the favourites' folders & files.
3. You can move those "Favourites" anywhere convenient to you [so long as you specify their location as in 2 above].
I moved mine off C:
I put them on D: so that when I restore a past image of C: those [and all my other such personal data files] are all unaffected and remain up-to-the-second.

I searched my own registry for "Data" settings equal to my own Favourites' location, and found a number of places where these settings are held.
e.g.
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Exp lorer\Shell Folders
Name = Favourites
Data = [their location]
TweakUI will put the correct settings in all the correct places in the registry.
