I have purchased a CORSAIR's PC133 128MB CAS-2 168-DIMM UNBUFFERED memory module which I will be using with ASUS motherboard CUSL2.

The CUSL2 manual says that "ASUS motherboards supports SPD (Serial Presence Detect) DIMMs. This is the memory of choice for best performance vs. stability."

Does anyone know Whether or Not , the Corsair Memory module purchased
by me is a SPD (Serial Presence Detect) DIMM.
If yes, please explain what this feature implies.

Please post your replies.

Hey
Almost all major brands have this feature.
It is simply a identifier for the chip that lets the BIOS know exacts about the specs.
I would expect your module has it.

Chad, I believe a recent BIOS will detect SPD and select it by default for memory settings, is that correct?

Hey
Yes, the BIOS will use it to automatically set all the parameters. Laters...
