THis is just a heads up for those interested in NOD32
Just received an email from ESET (the people who do NOD32)
Version 3 should be released soon, probalby around November. It will be called ESET Antivirus, not NOD32, and will have some improvements including better user interface, two different modes (normal and advanced, so experts can tweak, whilst home users can just let it rip) and improved scanning speeds.
Existing users will be able to upgrade FOC. This is NOT the full suite ESET expect to be releasing, it is a pure AV (some like myself prefer this) so it won't include anti-spam and firewall like the upcoming suite.
Hopefully this new version will be good. Not quite sure why the change of name, two reasons could be the mixed reactions to NOD32 of late in some tests, but more likely it's simply an easier name for the public to remember - NOD32 is now available as a boxed version, so I guess it's as much about marketing as anything.
