I've been noticing something lately about the spam I've been getting that is really disgusting. When I get spam, I of course, delete it. But here's what's been going on lately--it doesn't happen all the time. But when I select something to delete, it automatically opens the page to the website. I don't double-click or anything like that. I simply select it so I can delete it--that's when it opens the web page. And it seems to be always a porn site. If I later open IE and look at History, that web page will be in my history for sites that I've viewed. It really ticks me off. Has anyone else run into this?

Do you have the Preview pane open In OE? If so, try disabling it. from View> layout. clear the check mark in preview pane, and OK out.

Switch to Thunderbird, first the spam blocker is first rate. Second, the program blocks remote images by default.

And consider using MailWasher which allows you to delete it from the server without fully downloading it in the first place...

I looked at it and saw that there was a check mark there. So I un-checked it. Thanks...

David--That was a good idea about disabling the preview pain. I haven't said one cuss word since I did that. I'm also going to try Bud's idea about Mail Washer. I feel pretty good right now because the Cleveland Indians beat the Detroit Tigers in the 11th inning with a walk-off home run. I like base ball, but I don't take it to seriously. If my team looses, I can still get a good nights sleep, enjoy a good meal and I don't Even kick the cat.:) You Detroit fans have a good team and the season isn't over yet. So I don't count my chickens before they hatch.

Glad it worked! and Mailwasher is a very good idea. I use it, and now only download real messages.
