Help!!!!!!!!!!

Hiya,

I'm probably just being an idiot but I recently got a new Toshiba Equium laptop which has Vista installed. It wouldn't recognise my old dsl model from BT and so I decided to go wireless. I bought the Zoom x6 router and followed the instructed on how to install it on my laptop (although it told me to plug the ethernet cable into my laptop - which isn't wireless but either way it didn't work). I then looked up a few websites which told me it needed to connect to my modem and connect it all to my computer and then my laptop would find the connection wirelessly. AGain this hasn't happened and when I go into the control panel to turn wireless on, it doesn't give me this option.

I've spoke to the guys in PC World and my laptop is definitely wireless enabled already so didn't need the USB adaptor and the router should have just been plugged in and worked....but it's not! Can someone please explain (obviously in dummy terms!!) as I'm dying to get on the internet on it and get it sorted as I start Uni next week!!!

I would first recommend contacting the manufacturer (http://www.zoom.com/products/adsl_overview.html) if this is a new product. If you are certain the settings you can check are right, there may be a warranty issue involved. After that, we would need a bit more info. Router model number, computer OS, computer model number.
