Hello Guyz

I need your help with this one

I bought my Acer Aspire 5580 laptop one month ago, I had Windows Vista installed in the C drive as factory default, I had to install windows XP in the drive D, and because of that i'm unable to start Window Vista now.

What do you advise me so i can restore Windows Vista or install a new copy of it??

PS: i've done a backup copy of Windows Vista, but it's not workring properly.

waiting for a ur help

Regards

Can you 'see' the Vista partition from XP?

In all likelihood, all that has changed is the boot information for Vista has been overwritten by that for XP. A general rule of thumb for MS operating systems is to install the older versions first and then the newer...because the older ones don't recognize the newer and tend overwrite the boot information.

About 2/3 of the way down, the section called "Restoring Vista and dual booting" should get you going...

Have a look at Vista Boot Pro (http://www.vistabootpro.org/). It is said to work quite well in this situation.
