I have a fault with my windows xp. when I fire up the PC the usual BIOS screen is shown then follows the initial XP logo with the blue progress bar chart. However after this stage the monitor shows a message "NO SIGNAL".
If however I boot the system in SAFE MODE windows loads and with the resticted situation the PC works fine.
Any suggestions?

Video card driver issue. What video card do you have? Grab the latest drivers from the manufacter's website.

Could also be too high of a refresh rate, etc.
When did the problem start? What were you doing before?

Run msconfig.
Select /BASEVIDEO on the boot.ini Tab
Reboot and use basevideo/standard vga until you get your drivers updated or reinstalled.

Thanks for all your comments. A simple change of video card cleared the problem.
