Hello,
This might be a wrong site to post my question, but I want to start a new thread regarding connecting laptop and tv via s-video.
I have a HP Pavilion Ze 2113us and trying to connect with tv. My laptop has 7 pin s-video out and tv has 4 pin s-video out. I bought bought 4 pin male s-video cable and separate audio cable. After connecting all the cables and set tv to s-video all I see is wallpaper. There are no shortcut icons on my tv screen. I pressed Fn + F5 for HP laptop. When I play WMP or Divx it only shows up in my computer screen. However, I can hear sound from my tv. My laptop has an ATI Radeon Xpress 200m. There is no update for the card driver. Since, it is old I can't right click. So I went to control panel-display-setting. There are two blue boxes. #1 is computer monitor and #2 is tv. I tried to change setting by reversing the identity of monitors. Now #1 is tv and #2 is computer. However, my pc only displayed wallpaper, but tv was playing divx. However, there is still no icons and I couldn't use mouse to control. Should I get a seven pin and 4 pin s-video cable? I don't know what to do. My ATI card driver update is two years old. I check ATI website, but no lasted update for my card driver. I also Google for update, but only update I found was done in 2005 which is same as mine.
Windows XP Home edition.
Thanks for your help and hope to hear from soon and have nice weekend.
