As you can tell I am very new to all of this.... My problem is simple...While
installing e-mail in my ICQ program..it says that I need an SMTP address,
and a POP # .....I do not know what these are.... I understand what a SMTP
address is but not what mine is....The instructions are very confusing to
me....If you can help please do....

Check with your ISP, they will know the addresses you need, it's also set up somewhere in Outlook Express, but I don't use it at the moment, so I can't look up the settings. It's not even set up...

The addresses vary with ISP's. Some use mail.isp.net, some use smtp.isp.net. Same for the POP address, mail.isp.net or pop.isp.net can be used, it varies with the ISP.

Since freewwweb is now no longer in existence, I suppose theirs would be a good example.
pop3.freewwweb.net
mail.freewwweb.net
pop.freewwweb.com
smtp.freewwweb.com
would be a few ways they can be written. Many local ISP's use mail.isp.net for both, and news.isp.net for newsgroups. Check with your ISP.

Hi

as Pete, says above^.

To access / change these settings in Outlook Express 5x, click- tools, accounts, (pick the account or add an account) then -properties,.

You will then be in the area where these seetings can be entered. Please consult your ISP web-site or customer service to provide ur infomation required. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/tongue.gif
